Snails

“Snails” is an Android game for kids, created by Me and Nadav Nevo, who made the animations and graphic design. It is the first complete game that I have written from scratch to finish (apart for game jams), and released in the Google Play Store. The game was developed in Unity, and took about 2 years to finish. In addition, I created the unique sounds and music, which I recorded in my studio.

The premise of the game was to recreate the same-device-vs. experience which we remember from back when we were kids. We would sit with a friend or a sibling and play on the same keyboard in front of the computer. The game was a social experience, and the physical nearness was an integral part of the interaction. Nowadays, each kid is completely immersed in his own device, while the social aspect is completely gone. Having two snails race each other sends the message that you just need to believe in yourself to achieve your goals (and if that’s not enough, the referee is a mole!).
