Where is My Date
Where Is My Date? Hip-Hop Soundtrack for Global Game Jam
This game was developed in the 2015 Global Game Jam in Tel Aviv, which meant the team only had 24 hours to come up with an idea, develop, and design the whole thing. I wrote and produced the music and was also in charge of the sound design for the game.
The Global Game Jam is a pretty frantic event, especially in Israel. I usually set up a table with my equipment and wait for crazed developers to rush in with vague ideas. This time, however, was different. Producer Omri Arad had a calm, clear concept: a homage to “Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego,” set in modern-day Tel Aviv using a dating app to find clues.
I decided to add a hip-hop twist to the soundtrack. Omri really liked it and even let me participate in the actual game as one of the clue-giving characters! You can see the result in the gameplay video below, or listen to the indie game music tracks further down.
