Space Ctrl
Here is a good example of adaptive music for games. This game was made during the 2017 Global Game Jam in Tel-Aviv, a yearly event where each team creates a game in 30 hours.
The event took place in a beautiful place in Old Jaffa, overlooking the sea. The theme was “Waves”, and me and my team decided to make a space shooter where the engine is broken, and the ship is floating freely at the mercy of solar winds.
I helped write the code for the game, as well as the sounds and the music, which are both adaptive, meaning they change according to real time events in the game, or more specifically the speed of the space waves.
Enjoy!
