This track is pretty unusual, mainly due to the fact that it was written in about five different sessions. Usually when I write music for games it happens more or less at once. It may take a few times to mix and tweak, but the actual writing just bursts in one session.

 
After the first session I came to a strange realization that I wasn’t quite sure what the harmonic structure was. There were a few ways to analyze it – it could have been in E Dorian, B minor or even F# phrygian… I was lost in my own piece!

 
Then something magical happened – it was very late at night and I was at my studio, and decided to give it another go. This time, without thinking about scales or modes. Just closing my eyes and playing whatever felt right. It took a few tries but in the end I was very happy with the final piece. And if you think you know how to analyze it – please let me know!
