Go Ugly Early: Spatial Audio and 360 Music for VR Film

This is a specialized soundtrack I composed and implemented for Gur Bentwich’s 360 VR short film – Go Ugly Early. Working on this project required a deep dive into immersive sound design and audio spatialization to ensure the music and effects felt lived-in within a virtual reality environment.

Beyond the composition, I handled the VR audio implementation and programmed the interactive mechanics of the focus function. I developed a system where the viewer’s gaze triggers dynamic audio transitions: as the viewer stares at a specific conversation, a visual cue appears, and upon completion, the 360-degree soundscape shifts—zooming into the audio source and raising the volume to guide the narrative focus.
