Flower Yard: Hybrid Instrumentation and Creative Sampling

Flower Yard is built on a foundation of organic instrumentation, recorded using an electronic drum set, guitar, and keyboard. The goal was to capture the energy of a live session while maintaining the precision of a digital environment.

To add an ethereal layer to the piece, I integrated an old vocal chant. By raising the pitch of the sample, I transformed the original recording to simulate a female vocal, creating a haunting, melodic centerpiece that bridges the gap between traditional folk elements and modern electronic production.

The result is a track that feels grounded yet floating – a snapshot of how sampling techniques can recontextualize historical sounds into a new musical narrative. Listen to the track below.
