Dragon Fury
This story is about a hackathon that was held in Tel Aviv, 2015 by a game company called “DragonPlay” (now SciPlay). For those of you who aren’t familiar with the concept, a hackathon is an event where computer programmers gather and try to collaborate in order to develop a product in a short period of time. In this case the product was a multiplayer game for mobile platforms (Android, iOS etc).
We were supposed to make a game which was a homage to an old movie called “Kung Fury”, and the game was meant to be a side scroller, like “Double Dragon” or other classic games. I decided to make the themes 8-bit, and very spastic, as a tribute to these old arcade-like themes.
Eventually the game didn’t really work out. We didn’t have enough time to finish the server-side integration to allow multiplayer features, however I did get to learn a lot and improve my C# programming skills.
These are the two soundtrack themes for this video game. Enjoy!
