Dim Light: Technical Sound Systems and Asymmetric Co-op

For this jam project, I developed a custom Unity package that goes far beyond simple audio playback. Instead of just providing samples, I built a system that automatically triggers specific footstep sounds based on surface type, player speed, and movement state. It’s a “drag-and-drop” solution designed to save developers hours of tedious implementation.

The package also includes an adaptive music player. It manages multiple layers of atmospheric music that shift and change every time you play, giving the developer full control over the emotional intensity of the scene. I’m currently refining these tools to be published as a professional package in the Unity Asset Store.

Dim Light is a tense, 2-player asymmetric experience. One player is a lost traveler in a dark, forbidden forest, while the other is a ranger with the clues to save them. Since the ranger cannot see what the traveler sees, communication and vigilant cooperation are the only ways to escape.
