Avihail – Spontaneous Analog Sessions with Roy Harmon
This piece was born during a visit to the studio of my friend and brilliant musician, Roy Harmon (known for his work in Armon, Tigris, and Xi413). His studio, located in the village of Avihail, is a haven for analog equipment and raw, unpolished sounds.
The session was entirely improvised. I sat down at a well-loved, worn-down drum set while Roy grabbed a guitar that only had four strings and wasn’t even fully in tune. Together, we leaned into the imperfections of the instruments to create this weird and beautiful track. It serves as a reminder that the character of the gear often dictates the soul of the music.
You can hear the result of that afternoon in Avihail below.
Guitar, Recording, Editing & Production: Roy Harmon
